Albion Hat and Cap Co. was established in 1947 out of Little Albion Street in Surrey Hills, Australia, when Alec Bart, a trained cap maker joined the Albion Manufacturing Company which made GI Kits for the US Government, and plastic raincoats, to change the focus of the company to hats and caps post World War Two. The company suitably changed its name to Albion Hat and Cap Co.

After making a popular form of sailors’ gob cap, all styles of peak caps, baseball caps, Ivy League caps, beanies with pompoms and towelling hats and caps, the company won the contract to manufacture an Australian sporting icon – the Baggy Green cap, which continues to live on today.

Albion Hat and Cap, with Bart’s cap making legacy has now passed through seven decades into the 21st century to capture the spirit of team sport, through tradition and unity, while continuing to embrace sport’s most famous metaphor, the ‘cap’.

Albion Hat and Cap Co. is a division of Albion Sports, and a sister company to Coonan & Denlay and albion.
